SAFEPLAST

Within the call Order of 12 August 2016, of the Regional Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment of the Region of Murcia, for the granting of public aid to promote public-private cooperation and technology transfer in the areas of specialization of the Strategy for Research and Innovation for the smart specialisation of the Region of Murcia, RIS3Mur, the company GWE PLASTICS S.L., together with the Technological Centre for Footwear and Plastics of the Region of Murcia and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, have developed, through the SAFEPLAST project, a recycling process capable of eliminating contamination of the footwear and plastics industry. together with the Footwear and Plastics Technology Centre of the Region of Murcia and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena have developed, through the SAFEPLAST project, a recycling process capable of eliminating unwanted contamination from recycled polyethylenes and polypropylenes, also known as ultra-cleaning, so that these recyclates can be used for the manufacture of new food contact packaging, being reincorporated into the production system in compliance with circular economy criteria.
