upPE-T, PRESERVE and UPLIFT will hold an online workshop on the standardization of plastics and Circular Economy

● The session will feature the participation of three EU-funded initiatives working on “bio-based” packaging: UPLIFT, upPE-T, and PRESERVE.
● These projects work on the recycling of food and beverage containers through different technologies such as biological depolymerization and enzymatic biotechnology.

upPE-T, PRESERVE and UPLIFT are organizing a joint online workshop entitled STANDARDIZATION AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY, Three European projects working in the framework of standardization to be held on April 27, 2022. These three European projects are EU-funded initiatives in the framework of the EU Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program.
During the session, they will present the work carried out by the projects in the framework of standardization. The objective of this event is to create a high-level meeting point for interested parties from all over Europe in which to show how it can help support the valorization of research and innovation (R&D&I) results.
About the Workshop ‘STANDARDIZATION AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY’

The workshop will be divided into three parts:

During the first, the workshop will feature different short talks by a representative of the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), among others, to frame standardization in Europe and how European R&D projects can use standardization as a successful conduit to enhance its results.
In the second part, the CEN-CENELEC Workshop Agreements (CWAs) will be presented, as well as the challenges of standardization in the circular economy.
In the last session, there will be an open discussion on the importance of standardization in the circular economy.
